Feeling a little nervous before stepping in front of the camera? Totally normal. Whether it’s your first shoot or your fifth, a bit of prep can go a long way. In this post, I’ll guide you through a few simple tips to help you feel comfortable, confident and camera-ready.

1. Wear what feels like you
Your outfit plays a big part in how you feel on camera. Go for something that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Neutrals and soft tones work well, but if a bold color feels like you, go for it. Avoid busy patterns or big logos — they can distract from your face and expression.
2. Think about location and light
I’ll help choose the right spot, but it’s always good to think about what kind of vibe you want: urban, nature, indoors, minimal, dramatic? We usually plan around natural light, so early morning or late afternoon (golden hour) often gives the best results.
3. Trust the process
You don’t need to know how to pose — that’s my job. We’ll keep it relaxed, and I’ll guide you through everything so you never feel awkward. The best photos usually happen in between the moments when you’re just being yourself.
4. Bring a personal touch (if you want)
Sometimes, a small prop, accessory or item that means something to you can add depth to your photos — like a book, a hat, a jacket, or even your dog. It’s optional, but it can help tell your story.
5. Get in the right mindset
Photoshoots are meant to be fun. Don’t overthink it. Get a good night’s sleep, drink water, and arrive a few minutes early so we can ease into the session. The goal is to capture you, as you are.
